Rasgulla is made from cottage cheese(chhena).



  • Ingredients:
  • Milk
  • Lemon Juice
  • Maida
  • Sooji / Rava
  • Sugar
  • Elaichi
  • Baking Soda

Preparation

  • First of all take milk(one liter) boil it and add lemon juice to extract the cottage cheese(Chhena). 
  • Take a clean cloth and strainer to drain out the water and after that wash with normal water and leave that for one hours  so that cottage cheese becomes dry.
  • Within that time next prepare sugar syrup. take water and sugar in 3:1 ratio that means if you are taking one cup sugar then add three cup water to it.
  • Boil it but remember sugar syrup should not be thick.
  • Now take the cottage cheese in a plate kneed it by adding sooji (two spoon) and maida (one and half spoon),add elaichi powder and baking Soda(1/2spoon) kneed it properly.
  • Prepare small balls and keep it aside.
  • Now add Cheese ball one by one to the sugar syrup and cover it with a lid leave for 30 minutes.
  • When the its done add kesar if you have for colour and leave it until it comes to room temperature.
