Chena poda
Chhenapoda
originated in the Odia town of Nayagarh in the first half of the twentieth
century.Chhena poda is a cheese dessert from the Indian state of Odisha literally
means Roasted Cheese in Odia. Demand and sale of Chhenapoda is huge
in Odisha in every sweet shop. Its shape of a cake often attracts a huge number
visitors to grab a bite and take it home as the "Taste of Odisha".
Ingredients:
1. Milk
2. Lemon or vinegar
3. Cottage cheese (Cheena)
4. Sooji or Rava
5. Baking soda 1/4tbs
6. Baking powder 1 tbs
7. Oil
8. Sugar 250g(You can also
add jaggery or sugar free)
9. Cardamom
10. Almonds
11. Cashew
12. Raisin
Preparation
time: 1hour.
Way of preparation:
1. First take two liter of
milk boil it when the milk starts boiling add lemon juice or vinegar.
2. Remove the cottage cheese
in cotton cloth and remove extra water.
3. Wash the cottage cheese
with normal water.
4. Now take the cottage
cheese in a bowl mix it with hand and add three tbs sooji into it.
5. Mix it well and add 250g
sugar, Baking powder 1tbs and baking soda 1/4tbs to it.
6. Add dry fruit and cardamom
powder mix it and add water to it gradually.
7. Leave the mix for some
time and set the oven at 160 degree for 10 minutes for preheating.
8. Then take a glass bowl grease
it with oil and fill it with cottage cheese mix.
9. Place the bowl into
microwave for 30 minutes at 160 degree.
10. After 30 minutes check it
with a tooth pick.
11. Let the chena poda come to
room temperature and cut it otherwise it will break.
You
can also prepare it with traditional chula or using pressure cooker. If you are preparing this on Chula in traditional way then it may looks like below-
