Sugar Free Ragi Laddu

Ragi Laddu is a delicious & healthy sweet option, specially its more beneficial for the peoples having diabetics and sugar problem. As this laddu doesn’t require sugar or Oil / Ghee for preparation.

Health Benefits of Ragi:

Ragi flour is one of the best non-dairy sources of calcium as compared to any other grains. Calcium is critical for healthy bones and teeth and prevention of osteoporosis - a disease which weakens the bones.

The Ragi grain's seed skin is rich in polyphenols and dietary fibres as compared to rice, wheat etc. The low glycemic index reduces food cravings and maintains the digestive pace, consequently, keeping blood sugar within the safe range.

Vital amino acids like Methionine and Lysine present in Ragi makes the skin tissues less disposed to wrinkles and sagging.

Regular consumption of Ragi is most beneficial for conditions of anxiety, depression and insomnia. The presence of antioxidants, mainly Tryptophan and amino acids acts as natural relaxants.

Ragi having high amount of dietary fibre  which keeps the stomach full for longer and prevents unwanted cravings, which leads to a minimised appetite and weight loss.

Ingredients:

  •        Ragi Flour (250 Gms)
  •        Dates (75 Gms)
  •        Khismis / Resins (1 tbspn)
  •        Peanuts (2 tbspn)
  •        Rasi / Til /  Seasme Seed (4 tbspn)
  •        Kaju / Cashew Nut (25 Gms)
  •        Almonds (25 Gms)
  •        Elaichi / Cardamom (4-5 Nos.)

Preparation Time:

Preparation time as less as 30 min

Ways of Preparation:

Take Ragi flour in a frying pan and fry it on medium flame for around 5-6 minutes, Stir it continuously to avoid burning of the ragi.

In a pan fry the peanuts seeds. While frying peanuts use medium flame and stir it in between. Once peanut is fried remove the skin of it.

Fry the Broken Kaju & Almonds and also fry the Rasi / Til until its start changing it colour to slight brown.

Take this fried Ragi flour in a mixer jar and add the dates(use sugar or gud less dates), khismis & fried peanuts into it. Also, add cardamom for flavour purpose. Grind it properly until the dates mixed into flour properly to becomes sticky.

One mixing is done, remove the mixture into a plate and add fried rasi/til, Kaju & Almonds into it. Mix it properly. Now prepare balls from it, also you can give any shape as you wish, Just make sure that tightly press the dough so that it can take the shape and binds properly.

Now the Sugar-Free Ragi Laddu is prepared, You can store this laddu in for 10-15 days in a cool & dry place.
