Love to have snacks but don’t know how to make it with less oil. Here is the way to make chat without deep fry and less oil. Also best way to enjoy chat without going out of home in the lockdown situation or having a healthy recipe at home.
Ingredients:
Katori
Preparation-
1. Maida / All-purpose Flour - 200g
2. Baking Soda - ¼ tbsp
3. Salt – As per Taste
4. Oil
5. Black Cumin / Kala Jeera – ¼ tbsp
Alu Masala /
Dum Alu preparation-
6. Dried pea – 100 gms.
7. Potato /Allu
8. Tomato
9. Onion
10. Ginger & Garlic Paste
11. Spices
Chat Preparation
12. Coriander leaves – Finely chopped 1 tbsp
13. Chat masala – ½ tbsp
14. Black salt – As per Taste
15. Cabbage – Finely chopped 1/4 Cup.
16. Onion - Finely chopped 1/4 Cup.
17. Tomato – Finely Chopped 1 tbsp
18. Tomato (For Chutney) – 1 Small
Preparation time:1hr
Serving – 2 Persons
Procedure to Prepare Katori Chat-

Take Maida into a bowl, add salt, baking soda,
Kala Jeera into it and mix it properly. Add 2-3 tbsp oil in it and kneed it
well upto it start binding. Once the Maida start binding add some water gradually
and kneed it well to prepared hard dough. Cover the dough and rest it for atleast 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes take the dough, kneed for some
time and prepare small ball from it. Take the Balls and prepare a thin sheet
from it. Keep a Katori / small bowl above the sheet and cover it by using the
sheet. Cut the extra pieces from of sheet from the inside of the bowl so that the
sheet in the katori shape can be removed from the Katori easily in the later
stage.

Preheat the Oven (Convection mode) at 180°C
for 10 minutes. Once the Oven is preheated put the prepared Katori Shape sheet
along with Katori into it and heat up the oven at 180°C for 10 minutes. You can also
fry it using oil.

After 10 minutes remove the Katori’s from the
oven now it’s already half cooked so remove the katori from the sheet. Now the
sheet already taken the shape of the Katori. Apply some oil into the both sides
and put in the oven once again for another 5 minutes.

As oven to oven cooking time differs so check the
katori’s are cooked or not.

You can check the katori”s as it become light
brown in color. Now the Baked Katora is ready.

Now boil the soaked dried peas and keep it
aside. Also prepared Alu Dam or Alu Masala with thick gravy for preparing of
Chat.

To Prepare the Chat, take the Baked Katori’s and
add some Alu Dam into it and above it add some boiled peas, finely chopped Cabbage,
onion, tomato, Sprouts, Tomato Chutney etc. Now sprinkle some Chat Masala,
Black salt and its ready to eat.
